worship Basement Builders are men committed to giving of their time, skills and abilities in completing basements and other similar construction projects for the friends and family of Shadow Mountain Church. The Basement Builders program allows men, associated with Shadow Mountain Church, an opportunity to fulfill the five purposes that God has given all followers of Jesus Christ:

  • Worship: We serve God by using our gifts, strength and abilities (present and future) to serve others and let Jesus work through our hands.
  • Connection (Fellowship): We are a "band of brothers", committed to each other and to those that we serve. By working together, our friendships and combined strength will continue to grow and provide camaraderie to enrich our lives.
  • Growth: We aspire to be more like Jesus - who was a "man's man", who practiced a carpenter's trade while showing us what God is like. It's our desire to bring a smile to God's face by our work and a desire to know Him more and more.
  • Service: Jesus didn't come to be served, but to serve. It's our aspiration to serve our friends and neighbors and give credit to Jesus for what He's done in our lives. Our service is rendered voluntarily, out of gratitude for the goodness of God in our lives. Jesus has done so much for us, it's our turn to extend his kindness to others.
  • Reach: Our goal is to help others discover Jesus and the joy that comes from knowing Him. Jesus didn't just talk about service and sacrifice for others. He is our ultimate example. It's our desire that, in some small way, our efforts demonstrate the love of God and the changes He has brought into our lives since we became followers of Christ.
